Become a Student Rep

Become a student rep. Join the student Movement!

Want to make change happen on your course? Become a Student Rep!

Are you passionate about ensuring that student voice is heard on issues such as online and in-person teaching, accessibility, decolonising the curriculum, assessment timetables and much more?

Over the years, Student Reps have successfully lobbied the University on a variety of issues raised by students in their feedback, including:

  • Improving assessment options for students
  • Working with staff on decolonising the curriculum
  • Working with lecturers to make classes more accessible for students with learning disabilities and students who speak English as a second or third language
  • Increasing the number of study spaces available to students
  • Introducing more LGBTQ+ orientated modules
  • Securing more core textbooks in the library
  • Working with module convenors to improve modules for the following years
  • Making placements more accessible to student parents
  • And so much more!

By collecting your feedback and sharing your views with staff at the Students’ Union and University, Student Reps ensure that your voice is heard in the decisions that impact you!

Nominate yourself to be a Student Rep now and jump into a more active role as part of a community of empowered change-makers at the Students’ Union.

You’ll also gain valuable experience and access to SU training, meet new people, earn points towards the Spirit of Sussex Award and, most importantly, represent the student voice in decision-making to improve the academic experience at Sussex.

Deadline: 9am on Monday, 4 October
