Black History Month: see more events

Students at African talent show

During October, the University has been showing its support for Black History Month with a series of events to celebrate diversity and the achievements of people of colour at Sussex, in the UK and around the world.

Black History Month is a national celebration that aims to promote and celebrate black contributions to British society, and to foster an understanding of black history in general. It’s a fantastic opportunity for all students to get involved and learn more about our BME (black, minority and ethnic) community.

Read on for some highlights for the rest of the month. You can visit the Students’ Union’s Black History Month page for updated listings and more information. Student-led events are frequently being added to the programme, and you can still apply for funding and support to host your own event.
