Your wellbeing: don’t miss 10-minute plays in a caravan

Students write on a chalk board as part of the Caravan Theater on campus

The Caravan Theatre is a travelling company that addresses key social issues at universities by performing plays in their beautiful black box theatre – and they’re coming to Sussex!

The 10-minute plays raise awareness of issues including mental health, consent, sexual harassment and hate crime.

You’ll find the caravan outside Bramber House, at the bottom of the steps leading from Jubilee building, on these dates:

  • Tuesday 1 October – Time of Your Life (mental health)
  • Wednesday 2 October – Can’t Touch This (consent)
  • Thursday 3 October – 94,000 (hate crime)

Everyone is welcome. This year the team have improved their accessibility for students who are wheelchair users, are deaf or hard of hearing, and blind or visually impaired.

Find out more on the Caravan Theatre website or follow them on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter to keep up to date with performances.

Consent matters

We want to have a wider conversation about relationships, sex and consent, so that you have an enjoyable and safe time at Sussex.

Consent Matters is a free online course all about consent, respect, boundaries and positive intervention, designed to get people talking. The course is open to all students and covers four areas:

  • Thinking about consent
  • Communication skills and relationships
  • Looking out for others
  • Support

You can also explore these topics further at one of our brand new interactive Consent and Healthy Relationships workshops.

The online course and workshops are both part of the REDS programme.
