With the introduction of the new Sussex Alumni Award of £2,000, the University has further improved its scholarship offer for those looking to study a Masters degree.

The new award of £2,000 is available to any Sussex graduate, however long ago they first studied at Sussex, who is accepted onto an eligible Masters course. There’s an unlimited number of awards available and those who have previously graduated with a bachelors, masters, or PhD degree are eligible.

The new alumni award compliments the Sussex Graduate Scholarship of £3,000 for current Sussex undergraduates who are accepted onto a Masters degree this September with a 1st or 2.1 undergraduate qualification, and the Chancellor’s Masters Scholarship of up to £5,000 for students who have graduated with a 1st from any UK university.

These scholarships, alongside the Masters Student Loan, help make postgraduate study more accessible to those who may previously have been unable to fund a postgraduate degree.

Grace Neary, a current MA Gender Studies student, explains the difference receiving a Sussex scholarship has made to her: “Receiving a scholarship from Sussex has, simply, made further study a possibility for me. As a Disabled student, the scholarship gave me the freedom to prioritise my education and not to worry so much about the impact working so much more while studying might have had on me. It opened a door for me to be able to write a dissertation about Disability and to study a subject I love so much more fully!”
