Campus Co-op reopens after temporary closure due to leak

The Co-op supermarket on campus is open again after a temporary closure because of a leak in Bramber House that caused flooding in the store.
The Students' Union and Co-op, which run the store in partnership, worked with the University Estates team to resolve the matter as soon as possible and to allow the store to reopen.
Earlier on Tuesday 24 November, Tarek Khalil, Director of Operations for the Students' Union, said: “We hope to get this sorted as soon as possible.
“SEF and external contractors have identified the root cause of the issue. Other contractors are checking the electrical equipment in the Co-op to ensure it is safe to switch back on.
“We will then look at what other steps need to be taken before the store can safely reopen.
“We will update you as the situation develops.”
