Camille Bowers from the University of Sussex Students' Union has sent us a selection of new student societies that you might want to check out this term:
Decolonise Shakespeare
This brand new society is an “inclusive and actively anti-racist space for QTIPOC and allies” who are interested in the dramatic arts. Keep an eye out for their upcoming performances!
Here is a quote from the society:
"Our society is an inclusive and actively anti-racist space for QTIPOC and allies in the Arts on campus who are interested in Shakespearean Drama. We exist to foster a co-creative space where knowledge and industry links can be shared among students, and serve as a bridge between students at the university and a career in the arts, after graduation. Some of our up-coming events include and open mic night in room 76 and a production of Macbeth in the ACCA. More information can be found on our Instagram @decoloniseshakespeare."

Beyond the Page
This society “creates a safe and inclusive space for women and girls to discuss a wide range of bookings that celebrate the power, courage, and resilience of many women of colour”. Click here to check out their events!
Student Christian Movement
This society takes a radical approach to Christianity centring the experience of queer Christians. This is “an inclusive community of Christians in Brighton that is an actively LGBT+ affirming group made up of a wide range of denominations”.
