The building at the heart of Sussex: Discover your Student Centre

Amidst the hustle and bustle of university life, there's a place that's a sanctuary that students can call their own.
Your award-winning Student Centre is your first port of call for face-to-face information, advice, and guidance as well as a flexible space to study, socialise and be creative.

Living art
One of the brilliant things about studying at Sussex is the nature and wildlife around campus. The design of the Student Centre was itself inspired by the local surroundings and, over the summer, we’ve brought the outside in with new living art installations reflecting the South Downs and Sussex coastline as well as ‘biophilic’ columns next to the Welcome Desk.
Using the space
The Student Centre has a variety of flexible spaces for students to use. Find somewhere to chat and discuss ideas with friends, or head to a quieter area to study or relax. Grab a table to work on a group project, or head to the courtyard for a lunch break in the sun.
Need a caffeine fix? The café area near the main entrance has a coffee tuk-tuk where you can buy hot drinks during working hours. There are also two digital screens where you can order food to be delivered to the Student Centre and the ‘Heat and Eat’ area has three microwaves for you to heat your own food, a boiling water zip tap and a sink.

Whether it’s a simple query or support with a more complex issue, our dedicated Welcome Team are here to help.
The Student Centre brings together your student support services in one place, from housing to careers, health and wellbeing to financial advice and visa queries. Many teams operate drop-ins as well as bookable appointments either in-person or online. Got a question? Just head to the Welcome desk to ask the team.
