As we get to the end of the spring term, it’s time again for Sussex vs. Brighton Varsity! Who will lift the trophy? Stingrays or Panthers?
For everyone who doesn't know, Varsity is our annual sports competition against the University of Brighton, with lots of our sports teams battling it out to decide which university will be crowned Varsity winners.
Sussex will be looking to defend our title as the winners of three consecutive years of Varsity, with an impressive 14-3 win last year. With our new sports mascot – the Sussex Stingray – Sussex Students’ Union, Sussexsport and our 44 clubs are looking forward to the challenge.
This year, we’ve expanded the sports included in our line-up. Alongside traditional sports like rugby, football and basketball, we now have esports, swimming and dance. Our cheer teams, Sussex Swallows and Brighton & Sussex Waves, will be performing at games too.
We have a week of exciting action for students to attend and cheer for our teams. Check out our full timetable below and purchase tickets via the Students’ Union website.
