Use our sports centres
You can become a member of Sussexsport or use our facilities on a pay-and-play basis.
We have two on-campus sports areas:
- The Sport Centre, for indoor sports, group exercise classes and the gym
- Falmer Sports Complex, housing the main fitness rooms and sports pitches.
Find out more about our sports areas and see the full list of classes and facilities. You can take part in no-membership sport sessions through the ActiveUS scheme for £1.
You can also join sports teams and clubs run by the Students’ Union.
You can swim for £1 at local Freedom Leisure and Wave Leisure pools in Brighton & Hove, Lewes, Ringmer, Newhaven and Seaford. Just take your student ID card with you.
Look after your emotional health
If you’re concerned about your emotional health, your first point of contact is the Student Life Centre.
If you or a friend are in crisis, contact security.
Find out how to look after your sexual health. You can also sign up for free condoms and get answers to sexual health queries.
Free home testing kits can help you detect sexually transmitted infections.
Tip: Between 12 noon and 1.30pm on Wednesdays, the Students' Union give out free condoms, sanitary products and drug testing kits.
Alcohol and drugs
You can buy over-the-counter medicine and pick up prescriptions from the campus pharmacy.
