Make it Happen 2024 is your exclusive opportunity to hear from Sussex alumni about how they got into their industries, their tips for job-hunting success and how you could go on to do the same.
Taking place on campus throughout March, the events will focus on three different sectors:
- Charities, Development and Not-for-Profits,
- Government and Public Services, and
- Media, Arts and Communications.
Our inspiring speakers will include graduates at the beginning of their post-university journeys as well as alumni who have had years of experience in their sectors. They will share valuable insights into their career journeys so far.
Liam Hackett MBE (Business and Management 2009) will be speaking at our first event in the Make it Happen series – Careers in Charities, Development and Not-for-Profits. Liam is the Founder and CEO of global youth charity Ditch the Label – in a recent interview with Liam, he told us: “the ethos of Sussex was a huge inspiration and I am still inspired by the ways in which students organise and stand up for what they believe in”.
Facilitated by expert Careers Consultants, each event will include a short introduction from the alumni panellists about their careers, followed by the opportunity for you to ask questions directly to the speakers.
You will also have the chance to network with the speakers after each session, which has led to successful employment or work for some students in previous years.
Feedback from our students and alumni speakers about last year’s events was overwhelmingly positive, with one attendee saying: “The event was fabulous and I had a great time, such a great opportunity”.
All students are welcome to attend each event. Find out more and book your place.
