A Sussex Sociology student, Charlie Payne, who graduates in July this year, has gained a full-time role at popcorn brand Propercorn, which is a SussexFood supplier.
For the past year Charlie has been the Propercorn Student Brand Manager at Sussex, a minimum hour-a-week role that involves marketing Propercorn and supporting the most appropriate events on campus.
Faraz Aghaei, Marketing Manager at Propercorn, said about the Student Brand Manager programme: “Employing students enables us to have a crucial presence at the ground level of universities. Students are often the early adopters of trends and we want to engage with them on a peer-to-peer level.”
Charlie was one of more than 50 Propercorn Student Brand Managers at universities across the country and was recognised as the best employed, through her hard work and astute understanding of the target market.
Faraz continued: “We are thrilled to be inviting Charlie into our team at Propercorn HQ in London. She is going to be joining our sales team on a full-time basis in August, and we're both really looking forward to it.”
As Charlie graduates and moves on from Sussex, Propercorn are looking for a new Student Brand Manager to operate at Sussex.
