I was excited for freshers but as an introvert I quickly felt lonely as I lacked confidence in parties and as a centrist, I felt isolated within the friend groups I joined.
I did however find unbridled passion reading in the library and towards the end of the year and the following years I discovered people and societies with whom I could be open, such as the polymath society, the SWARM society and the anime society. I am grateful for the people I met and the knowledge I gained at the University of Sussex.
