Over the past two years we have been listening to our students and reading your module evaluation feedback to see where improvements can be made.
As a priority we wanted to make improvements around assessment timings, equivalencies and workloads for our students.
These improvements are set out in the new Sussex Academic Framework, a document that guides how we teach and assess courses at Sussex.
The Framework was recently approved at University Education Committee attended by Undergraduate Student Representative Johnpaul Onyeama who had this to say in support:
"The Academic Framework is truly a beautiful thing, a great step forward that puts students first by understanding their needs and finding real ways to support them. It gives us hope that institutions genuinely care, making the student experience feel valued and heard."
The Sussex Academic Framework also integrates employability throughout our courses in such a way that students can continuously build on their employability year-by-year. This includes opportunities for placements, study abroad and extra-curricular activities.
So, thank you for making a difference to the future Sussex students. These changes will be felt by our current foundation, first year and incoming students over the coming years.
