Join a fully-funded course to develop an essential toolkit of digital and creative skills that will make you the stand-out applicant for any hiring manager.

What’s on offer

These free digital skills training opportunities are delivered by Creative Process Digital and are fully funded. The courses are classroom-based at the Creative Process training centre in central Brighton, and led by industry-leading certified tutors.

Choose between:

  • Digital Skills Bootcamps in Adobe, AI, marketing or video: one day per week over 12 weeks, with certification to demonstrate your professional competence
  • Digital or Video Accelerator: full-time or part-time over 3-6 weeks, with an accredited level 2 diploma at the end.

You can take part in one Bootcamp and one Accelerator per financial year (1 April to 31 March), if you have not already completed the same course during your time at Sussex.

The courses will equip you with an essential toolkit of digital and creative skills that employers expect to see in new hires.

Students are encouraged to advance their skills at their own pace with individualised support from Learning Support Assistants, so these courses are open to students at all levels, subject to eligibility.

Digital Skills Bootcamps

All bootcamps are one day of face-to-face training per week over 12 weeks, in central Brighton, with various start dates. The bootcamps are worth £4800 but free to the participant. You will explore software in detail and access tailored employability support.

  • Adobe Skills

    The Adobe Skills Bootcamps are hands-on, face-to-face training led by industry experts, designed to give you professional competence in Adobe Creative Cloud – including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.  

    You’ll build an impressive portfolio and develop skills that will make you a standout applicant for any employer. Participants also gain access to paid freelance opportunities, fast-track their professional development, boost their start-ups, or secure promotions and new roles. 

    The Bootcamp covers all aspects of design, from logos, websites, and mobile apps to icons and posters. You’ll learn the fundamentals of good design, gaining the confidence and skills to create professional content across any niche. Mastering Adobe opens endless creative possibilities in any industry, helping you thrive in today’s competitive content-driven world. 

  • AI for Business

    Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become an essential skill in today’s digital world. Learn to understand generative AI fundamentals and how to apply AI to real tasks like content creation, research, data analysis and more. Master prompt engineering and how to create your own custom AI tools. Explore specialist AI applications and how to build ethical practices for responsible usage. 

    The AI for Business Bootcamp will enhance your expertise and open new career opportunities.

  • Marketing Skills

    The Google Digital Marketing and Analytics 4 training is a face-to-face Google Certified training programme designed to give you the opportunity to master the basics of digital marketing through exploring 16 modules, as well as gaining valuable insights into analytical tools to start making strategic marketing decisions. It’s all delivered by industry experts and packed full of practical exercises and real-world examples to help you turn knowledge into action. 

  • Video Skills

    Take your video skills to the next level with a hands-on, face-to-face Video Skills Bootcamp. Learn professional video production and editing using Premiere Pro in a fully equipped training centre in central Brighton, with high-spec iMacs, editing software, and professional cameras. 

    This course will be great for students who are YouTubers, Insta-reelers, vloggers, future business owners, or aspiring filmmakers. It will teach you how to create standout content, pitch effectively to clients, and help you secure regular paid work. 

    You’ll master the full production process – from ideas, filming, and editing, to distributing content online via smartphone, webcam, DSLR, or pro camera. By the end, you’ll leave with enhanced freelance skills, a professional portfolio, and the confidence to boost views, revenue, and your career. 

Digital or Video Accelerator

Upon successful completion of an Accelerator, you will achieve a nationally-recognised Digital Skills Diploma valued at £2,600 but free to the participant.

    This will equip you with an essential tool kit of digital and creative skills that employers demand, helping you create an impressive portfolio of work that will make you a standout applicant for any hiring manager, help you to develop your freelance skills or give your start up a rocket powered digital boost.

    • Fine tune your networking, pitching and presentation skills
    • Build your own website, online portfolio and stand out CV
    • Practise using design and marketing software used by professionals: Wix, Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
    • Understand what local opportunities are available in what sectors
    • Secure interviews for exciting new jobs with great employers.

  • Video Accelerator

    The Video Accelerator is perfect for you if you are passionate about video and would like to explore various aspects of video making in a fun, practical and creative manner. Via practical workshops, presentations and hands on learning, the accelerator will provide you with experience and support in producing amazing videos, whether you use a smartphone, webcam, DSLR or professional camera. 

    Whether you're a YouTuber, blogger, vlogger, business owner, aspiring filmmaker, or just someone who wants to create videos, you will learn how to make professional videos with this course. 

    No previous experience in video is required as you will be introduced to all aspects of the process such as lighting, sound, editing and operating digital cameras. However, basic experience with a film editing package will be beneficial.

How to apply

There are various course dates in 2026, and places are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Complete the registration of interest form below to share your details with the Careers and Entrepreneurship team. You will then receive information about available dates and a link to register for the bootcamp or accelerator of your choice.

Eligibility

Eligibility criteria apply, due to the funding model. To qualify, participants must meet the following requirements:

  • you must be 19 or over on or before 31 August 2025
  • you must have the legal right to work in the UK
  • you must not be on a student visa
  • you must be able to commit to the full course schedule.

Please note:

  • you can only enrol in one Bootcamp and one Accelerator per financial year (1 April to 31 March), if you have not already completed the same course during your time at Sussex.
  • courses are also open to the public

University guidance recommends that students work, or commit to training courses, no more than:

  • 15 hours per week during term time if you are an undergraduate
  • 20 hours per week during term time if you are a postgraduate.

Subject to availability, during term time:

  • undergraduate students are advised to only take part in a Bootcamp
  • postgraduate students are advised to only take part in a Bootcamp or the 2-day a week part-time Digital Accelerator.

During vacation period, students can undertake any of the courses.
