Policy impact masterclass with Simon Maxwell
Sussex staff and students are warmly invited to attend an engaging masterclass on how to achieve real policy impact through research, led by development economist Simon Maxwell.
Simon is currently Co-Chair of Climate:Change, Brighton and Hove's independent think-tank on climate action. He brings a wealth of experience from across the global development sector - he is a former researcher at the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) and previously served as Director of the Overseas Development Institute in London.
Simon's career also includes roles as Executive Chair of the Climate and Development Knowledge Network and Chief Scientific Editor of the UN Environment Programme Emissions Gap Report. He was the founding Chair of the European Think Tanks Group and continues to work closely with On Think Tanks.
This session will explore:
- Why and how to engage with the policy process
- How to get your research in front of decision-makers
- Strategies for creating lasting policy change
- How institutions can support this work.
