Whatever stage you're at in your studies, it’s always a good time to start thinking about what comes next. We asked Digital Media Creator, Grace, to give you the low-down on all the amazing careers support on offer right here at the University.

Visit the Career Hub to explore some of the opportunities that are currently available, including upcoming events, job vacancies, placements, internships and summer jobs, and one-to-one career support.
Undergraduate students should also check out Career Lab for bespoke opportunities designed to develop your skills, experience and confidence, to help boost your career prospects.
Not sure where to start? Check out the Student Hub for support and guidance on every step of your career planning. You’ll also find plenty of information there on internships, placements and work experience.
Finally, find out how the University can support you starting your own business or becoming a freelancer.

Planning your career can be exciting, but also really daunting. Here at Sussex our Careers Team offers a wide range of support and resources, so whatever your career goals are, whatever stage of your education journey you're at, there's something to help you.

Career Hub is so useful. Here you can book one-to-one career support. This could be by Zoom, on the phone, or in person, whatever's most comfortable for you. Keep an eye on the events tab, there are awesome events and workshops happening all the time. You can search for jobs directly from the career hub vacancies page, whether you're looking for placements, internships, voluntary work, part-time work, or even graduate opportunities, it's all there and right now is a great time to start your search for summer jobs.
Have you heard of Career Lab? This is a program designed to help undergraduates develop their skills, confidence, connections and experience. On the Career Lab page you can select what year you're in to see what opportunities are available for you. Select the one you're interested in to find out what's on offer, what the key dates are and how to apply.
On the Student Hub you can find out more about getting placements internships and work experience. Click on what you're interested in to find out more about what it is and the support that Sussex offers, for example the placements page lets you sign up to receive placement information, shows you these websites to look for placements and more. Don’t worry, there's still time for you to secure your placement for next year and your internships for this summer holiday.
Finally, whether, you want to start your own business, be a freelancer, or just build those entrepreneur skills for the workplace, Sussex offers entrepreneurship support. There are a whole bunch of workshops to develop these key skills, a newsletter, a podcast, and you even have the chance to get funding for your ideas with opportunities like the startup Sussex competition. You can book one-to-one appointments with the entrepreneurship team for personalised help.
All these opportunities and resources are there for you whatever stage of your journey you're at and whatever your career goals are, so don't be afraid to use them
