The University of Sussex’s permanent city shopfront on Lewes Road has now opened.
The information centre, at 91 Lewes Road near Sainsbury’s at the Vogue Gyratory, provides a showcase for the University’s range of courses, its research expertise and displays of student work.
Open Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm, the centre is a point of contact for engaging with current students, local residents, businesses, future university students, parents and teachers.
Members of the public will be welcomed through the doors to discuss University news and student accommodation, browse the displays, pick up prospectuses and find out about campus events.
Information will also be available on the University’s First-Generation Scholars scheme and its wide range of international activities.
The Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts will be a major focus, with a public performance programme due to launch in the refurbished arts centre in spring 2016.
A programme of themed exhibitions and events is also planned at the premises.
University of Sussex Registrar John Duffy said: “There’s always a lot going on at the University which we’re keen to share with the local community. We wanted to provide an alternative place for people to come to find out more and to meet with us.”
