As part of the Vice-Chancellor’s emphasis on ensuring everyone within the University of Sussex community is heard, you, as Sussex students, will have the opportunity to pose your own questions directly to him.
Two drop-in sessions have been organised for Thursday 20 October between 11.00-13.00 and Monday 28 November between 14.30-16.30, to give you the opportunity to ask the new VC the questions you want answered – or simply give your thoughts on student life.
On both days there will be 8 x 15 minute time slots available and will be given on a first come first served basis.
All you need to do is make your way to the Students’ Union common room in Falmer House for the times above. Once there, your name will be taken down and you will be given a time slot. At this point you can either go and come back at your allotted time or you can wait in the common room where refreshments will be provided.
Vice-Chancellor, Adam Tickell, said of the upcoming event:
"I'm really looking forward to this first drop-in session in Falmer House on the 20th. Since arriving as Vice-Chancellor back at the start of September my intention has been to listen to as many students as possible and understand more about the many experiences students have at Sussex.
“Please do come along and talk to me about what’s on your mind – is there something you feel I should be aware of, what thoughts have you got on student life or other brilliant ideas you have for making this the best University we can be.
“I’ll be holding these sessions regularly at different times and days of the week, so please come next time if it clashes with your timetable, or email me directly."
SU President, Annie Pickering, said of the planned drop ins:
“Students are the most important members of the University so it should be normal that students can talk to those who make decisions about our University. I really welcome Adam's commitment to being available to students to discuss their issues and concerns, whatever they may be"
