Students from two creative MA courses are inviting fellow film buffs and documentary lovers to join them at a free, celebratory screening of their final projects on Thursday 6 September.
A total of 22 documentary films will be shown at the Digital Documentary Degree Show 2018, all researched, filmed and edited by the students.
Covering a variety of fascinating and intriguing subjects, the films delve into both topical and niche themes: from the sense of belonging among Cornish expats in London, to life in a poor borough under the towers of Canary Wharf, to the challenges women face in the media industry in the wake of the #MeToo movement.
The documentaries will also take viewers around the world, from the stories of street hawkers in Lagos to the search for whales in Iceland, Portugal and Sri Lanka.
This is the 10th anniversary of the first cohort's graduation for the MA in Digital Documentary, while the MA in Journalism and Documentary Practice is a successful newer degree which combines journalism with core documentary modules from the older programme.
The degree show will take place at the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts on Thursday 6 September, with doors opening from 4.30pm. The films, which last around 20 minutes each, will be shown in two screening venues at the ACCA from 5pm.
