Five lucky students have won the National Student Survey prize draw for completing the National Student Survey (NSS) before 28 February. The NSS is still open and the University will continue to donate £1 to charity for every Sussex finalist who completes the survey.
The winners of the prize draw are (some of them chose not to be named):
- Lisa Marie Edwards (LPS)
- Phoebe Carr (Psychology)
- Emma Barter (ESW)
- Student in the School of Life Science
- Student in the Business School
The prize consists of a graduation package, including two guest tickets, hire of a gown and a photo package.
Emma Barter, who is coming to the end of her BA in Childhood and Youth: Theory and Practice, said: "I took part in the NSS to provide useful feedback to my tutors who have been amazing throughout my time at Sussex. It was hugely important to take part and have my say on the different aspects of the course, whether it be suggesting improvements or areas I found worked well for me. My course cohort is relatively small, so completing the NSS was vital for my course to be represented." Emma is bringing her parents to graduation.
Phoebe Carr, who will be taking her mum and her partner to graduation, thinks the NSS was a chance to provide feedback on the things that worked for her as well as those that didn’t. She said:
"I have struggled with my dyslexia in regards to how the exams are structured, and I hadn't had an opportunity to raise those struggles until I completed the NSS. I also got to say what I loved about the university, which felt good because it has been a life-changing experience for me and Sussex has genuinely been so amazing."
Lisa Marie Edwards hopes that her perspective as a mature student will help future students. She will use her two guest tickets to bring her son and best friend to her graduation ceremony.
The NSS is one of the most influential sources of information about Higher Education, helping prospective students, their families and advisors make informed choices about what and where to study. Your feedback is also important to your tutors, who want to hear what's been positive for you and if there are things that you think could be done differently.
If you’re in the final year of your undergraduate course, there is still time to take part and it should take less than five minutes to fill it in.
The National Student Survey closes at midnight on Friday 30 April.
