Sussex student highlights Afghan girls’ education crisis

A University of Sussex PhD student, Naimat Zafary, has authored a compelling article marking 1,000 days since the ban on girls’ education in Afghanistan.
The piece, titled “The Unbearable Weight of 1000 Days: Afghan Girls and their Stolen Future,” offers a personal perspective on the educational and societal challenges faced by Afghan girls.
Zafary, an Afghan Chevening Scholar, urges the U.K. higher education sector to support Afghan students and keep the hope for education alive.
