Our mental wellbeing affects how we feel about all areas of life. Looking after it can really improve the way we feel every day. This can be really helpful at times when we’re not feeling our best, but it’s also important to make sure we look after ourselves during the good times.
Accessing wellbeing support from the University
There are lots of ways we can look after our mental health and wellbeing and the University is here to support you.
You can find advice and tips on looking after your mental wellbeing on the Student Hub. You’ll also find more information there about accessing support from the University.
That might mean reaching out to the Student Centre or another support service, or it might mean joining the Chaplaincy for one of their guided meditation.
If you’re not sure where to start, the wellbeing stall is in the Student Centre atrium every Thursday (during term time) from 12-2pm. You can also see what’s happening this month in the Wellbeing team’s newsletter.
Support for student communities
We want to ensure that every student, including those who identify as belonging to the communities below, are supported throughout University – so you get the most out of your time with us.
Students who identify as LGBTQ+, trans or non-binary, care experienced or estranged, BAME, disabled, or who are parents or carers can find specific information about support for their wellbeing on the Student Hub.
Further resources and online support
You’ll also find resources provided by the University such as our excellent mental wellbeing reading list, available through the library, and the Togetherall virtual community, which uses the positive effects of healthy social networks in its community where people share with, and support one another anonymously.
Remember, there are things you can do to look after your mental health and wellbeing, even when you’re not experiencing difficulties. Check out the Student Hub to see how you can access support for your mental wellbeing from the University.
