Road, rail and bus services will be significantly impacted near campus on Tuesday 5 November
Due to the Lewes Bonfire event, there will be extensive travel disruption on roads, rail and buses near campus on Tuesday 5 November and you may need to make alternative travel arrangements.
Travel Disruption
The following changes are planned to transport near campus on Tuesday 5 November. Please note that travel plans are subject to change, so we recommend you check before you travel.
Train services from Falmer Railway Station will end before 5pm in all directions. Please see Southern Railway to see how your train service might be impacted. As Falmer Station is closing early, the last few services of the day are expected to be busy. The last trains to depart Falmer Railway Station are:
- Towards Ore – 16:33
- Towards Eastbourne (for Glynde and Berwick) – 16:06
- Towards Seaford – 15:46
- Towards Brighton (all stations) – 16:26
Roads leading to Lewes will also be closed early impacting cars and public transport. The following roads will close from 4.45pm
- A27 junction with A277 Brighton Road (Ashcombe Roundabout)
- A275 Offham Road with B2116 Plumpton Road
- C7 Kingston Road junction with C324 Wellgreen Lane
- A26 junction with A2029 Malling Street
- A26 Lane Church junction with Church Mayhew Way
These will be followed by further road closures within Lewes. To check if your journey will be impacted, visit the Lewes and Eastbourne Council website for full information. Roads around campus may be busier than usual due to the road closures.
Brighton & Hove Buses will continue to serve the bus stops on campus and adjacent to campus and will run a normal timetable, but services are likely to be busier than usual - we recommend you check www.buses.co.uk before you travel.
