Make a difference this winter
As the cold festive months are approaching, let’s remember those in our community who are struggling to keep warm.
Sussex Uni Food, our catering partners, with the help of St Peter’s Brighton, have organised a charity collection to gather new, warm clothes and festive foods for the homeless people of Brighton and Hove.
Alongside donations, Sussex Uni Food staff will also volunteer at one of the open soup kitchen sessions the charity runs at Saint Peter’s church, supporting the charity’s activities.
St Peter’s Brighton
The charity’s hope is to make Brighton a vibrant, creative, beautiful, and safe city where everyone can thrive.
It welcomes hundreds of vulnerable people into the church throughout the week, including at the Safehaven Saturday drop-ins, where volunteers make sure those in need feel happy and valued.
With the charity’s support, different groups of people from all walks of life meet in small groups around the city to enjoy home-cooked meals and great conversations, with opportunities to engage in arts and crafts as well as other activities.
Collection points and items needed
Help this important cause by dropping off festive foods and warm, unused clothes at one of the donation points around campus.
Look out for donation buckets at the Sussex House reception, Library Café, Veg Bowl @ Dhaba, Eat Central, Doctor’s Orders, Jubilee reception, and Innovation Centre reception, between 1-27 November.
Please donate new, warm clothes and festive packaged foods, including festive biscuits or cakes, chocolates, sweets, non-alcoholic drinks (cans or cartons), mince pies, gloves, hats, socks, toiletries, torches, or any other unused items you'd like to donate.
