Our Network Replacement Programme (NRP) will give us a brand-new, fast and secure internet network, and the next part of the project is coming soon.
What to expect
A contract has been signed with Capita Plc to install new internet network cabling in residences and other buildings on campus. This first phase of work will start in late November 2024 and end in August 2025.
What’s included?
Work will begin in on-campus residences, starting in Northfield from the end of November before moving to Lewes Court, Brighthelm, Stanmer Court, Swanborough and Norwich House in the first part of 2025.
Work will also take place in Shawcross, Freeman, Richmond and Pevensey 1 in March and April 2025.
Traffic management and temporary storage areas to support these works will be in place at various times and locations across the campus.
If your building is part of these works, we’ll let you know full details of the work in good time before it starts.
What else is happening?
Work to dig trenches and install ducts for network cables will continue until the end of the year. Surveys for the project are also continuing around the campus and we’re installing external Wi-Fi points too.
