Helping us improve campus
No suggestion is too small, and sometimes it’s the small things that make a big difference. Plenty of positive changes have resulted from feedback you provided in previous surveys.
Undeterred by our seagull friends, you told us you wanted more outdoor seating in the 2023 Student Spaces Survey, so we installed more picnic benches around campus.
Your feedback also showed that strong and consistent Wi-Fi was the most important factor for a good study space. You emphasised its importance for studying, leisure and staying connected with friends and family.
That’s why, over the past year, we enhanced Wi-Fi in campus accommodation, and our Network Replacement Programme (NRP) will replace our entire wired and wireless network on campus with a modern, fast and efficient new service.
Next, work will begin to boost the reliability and stability of our network – we’re getting ready to install new external Wi-Fi access points across campus, to unlock our green space and banish network dropout.
