Big changes are coming to Sussex Sport this summer!
We’re expanding and upgrading our facilities to bring you exciting new sports and wellbeing spaces.
New Gym – The Sports Centre
The main campus gym is on the move from Falmer Sports Complex at the top of campus, to a new home at the Sports Centre near to Falmer House.
This multipurpose space will be equipped with Life Fitness equipment, including treadmills, resistance machines, and free weights - everything you’d expect from a modern, high-quality gym.
It will feature dedicated strength and conditioning and cardio spaces area across a bigger area, helping Sussex Sport to better meet your needs.

Active Arches
Bringing Sussex Sport to the heart of campus, we’re also creating a brand-new wellbeing and fitness studio next door to the Student Centre and student accommodation.
This informal, welcoming space is designed for small group sessions or solo use, and will be equipped with mats, stretch bands, and fitness balls - ideal for yoga, Pilates, or quiet moments of mindfulness.

Falmer Sports Complex: evolving for performance
The Falmer Sports Complex will continue to serve as the training base for our competitive student sports teams an expanded Active US outdoor program and external partners, such as Brighton College, Crawley Town FC and ProDirect, an external provider of a football educational academy based on campus.
Falmer Sports Complex will also continue to be home to our dedicated Strength and Conditioning Suite, which will be available for hire throughout the week and open to all members at weekends.
