More buses, faster routes
In last year’s Travel Survey, you asked for better transport links to campus. We listened.
Thanks to your feedback, we teamed up with Brighton & Hove Buses and Brighton & Hove City Council to boost bus frequency and introduce express services to campus. Getting to lectures just got easier.
Better sports facilities
Okay, we couldn’t quite build the swimming pool or paddock some of you dreamed of, but we did make big improvements.
This summer, we opened two brand-new sports spaces:

The new gym: Bigger, brighter, and packed with more workout stations.

Active Arches: A fresh home for Active US, offering small group workouts for all abilities, at student-friendly prices.

Food, glorious food
A couple of years ago, thousands of students gave feedback on campus food options. You wanted more variety, better quality, and inclusive choices - and we delivered.

Eat Central got a major makeover.

The Veg Bowl @ Dhaba, Botanicals, Doctor’s Orders, and Library Café all received upgrades.

Menus now include more diverse and affordable meals, including improved Sussex Saver options.

We’ve also introduced carbon labelling at catering outlets, helping you make climate-conscious choices.
