Your feedback helps shape teaching and learning at Sussex. Autumn Module Evaluation Questionnaires (MEQs) open on Monday 24 November, and we are asking all taught students to take a few minutes and complete them. The survey will be open for 3 weeks.
MEQs are one of the most important ways that you can tell us what is working well in your modules and if there are areas that could be improved. The surveys are anonymous and take only two to four minutes to complete.
Why taking part matters
Your input is essential to help us understand your experience of each module, allowing staff to keep doing what you value and make changes that support your learning.
How it works
You are added to each of your modules automatically, you will be able to find your module surveys in just one space.
On Monday 24 November, you will receive an email with a personalised link to the MEQs for your modules.
If you wouldrather you can also access your MEQs through your module Canvas sites by clicking on Module Evaluations. These will be available from Monday.
Alternatively, you can go directly to your survey portal: https://sussex.surveys.evasysplus.co.uk/
Any of these can be used to complete your MEQs.
Student voice in action
Your feedback leads to real improvements. In previous MEQ cycles, students highlighted areas where teaching or delivery could be clearer or more consistent. In response, staff across the University have made a range of changes, including for example:
-
clearer assessment guidance and marking criteria,
-
improvements to Canvas design and navigation,
-
more consistent weekly teaching structures and better signposting,
-
additional workshops and revision support at key moments,
-
updates to reading lists and greater use of practical, real-world examples,
-
changes to seminar formats to address feedback about pace or structure.
These updates show the impact of your feedback and how MEQs support continuous improvement in teaching. But we need a good level of response to support this work! So please do take a few minutes to do your MEQs.
Completing your MEQs in class
Your tutors may give you a few minutes in class to complete your MEQs. If you see this in your teaching session, please take a moment to share your views.
What happens next
Once the MEQ window closes, staff review your responses and feedback to you. Module convenors use this feedback to identify strengths and improvements and to plan changes where needed. Some improvements might be possible to make straight away, while others will be incorporated into future module updates.
If you require support or have any questions about MEQs, please contact meqs@sussex.ac.uk.
Your feedback really makes a difference. Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences and help recognise as well as improve your learning at Sussex.
