Register Now for the Bennett Institute for Innovation & Policy Acceleration and the Sussex Energy Group 2026 Symposium
Zero Hour for Energy Policy: Researching the Race to Net Zero
19th February 2026
University of Sussex, Falmer, UK
The Director and Chairs of the Bennett Institute for Innovation & Policy Acceleration (BIIPA), and the Co-Directors of the Sussex Energy Group, would like to warmly invite you to attend the Institute’s 2026 Symposium. Attendance to the event is free, but registration is required.
Hosted jointly by the BIIPA and the Sussex Energy Group, this year’s theme is: Zero Hour for Energy Policy: Researching the Race to Net Zero. The Symposium will explore the pressing issues and challenges that underpin the acceleration of climate change policies.
The 2026 Symposium convenes influential voices across the climate and energy landscape to unpack the urgent issues driving policy decisions in the UK and Europe, and to look ahead to the next cycle of the IPCC reports. Together, we will confront the big themes — from the escalating risks to nature and society, to the ways muddled economics leads to muddled policy — and address everyday concerns such as whether accelerating toward net zero can cut energy bills. The event will also showcase cutting-edge research from the Bennett Institute and our broader community, whilst opening doors to new partnerships and collaborative opportunities.
Please find the Symposium’s programme on the Bennett Institute’s website.
