The input of the group led by Jo Tregenza was described as "integral to the total redesign" of the BBC's approach to grammar and literacy for children.
Debra Myhill, an Education Professor at the University of Exeter, was part of Jo's group advising the BBC.
Following a year of working as part of a group advising a development team at the BBC on their approach to teaching grammar - showing children and teachers how grammar should be taught in the context of literacy and books, Dr Jo Tregenza, Reader in Education and President of the UKLA (United Kingdom Literacy Association), received an email of thanks from the BBC in February stating that the group's input had been "integral to the total redesign" of their approach. The email also shared an early outline of their revised offering.
Jo was also subsequently asked to write the BBC's new English quizzes which are now available at BBC Bitesize – and will be added to the BBC’s revision guides.
