The University of Sussex has been ranked joint fourth for food sustainability in the People and Planet University League. Sussex received an impressive score of 95% - a significant rise from 29th place last year.
The People & Planet University League is an independent league table assessing universities on their environmental and ethical performance. Compiled annually by the UK's largest student campaigning network, the league measures institutions across a range of sustainability criteria.
The University's strong performance in the Sustainable Food category was driven by the recent expansion of the Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA) standard to cover all campus food outlets.
Sussex now scores the highest possible SRA ‘Made Good’ standard in all Sussex Uni Food outlets, a recognition of how we source of our food, our contribution to society, and our environmental impact in reducing waste and emissions.
Congratulations to the Sussex Uni Food team for another well-deserved result.
