Something’s landed at Sussex - and you might want to keep your eyes peeled during Welcome Week...
We’ve teamed up with Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club as its official Higher Education Partner – bringing two organisations from right here in Brighton together for a new four-year partnership.
But this isn’t just about football. The partnership will create new opportunities for Sussex students, bringing together the University’s expertise with one of the region’s best-known organisations.
Over the next four years, we’ll be exploring what Sussex and the Albion can do together – from student opportunities and careers to research, innovation, education, sport and community projects.
The Seagulls have landed – meet Gully and Sally!
You might already know Albion’s famous seagull mascots - Gully and Sally are coming to Sussex. During Welcome Week, you could spot them exploring campus, meeting students, hanging out at Sussex Sport, visiting Eat Central and popping up in some unexpected places.
So, if you see them, stop and say hello – and get a photo while you’re there. You could even spot yourself on Sussex social media – make sure you’re following all our accounts so that you can stay up to date with the latest news, and tag us in any of your posts, too:

This is just the start
The partnership will continue to grow, with more opportunities and activities to be announced as Sussex and Albion start working together. We want to know what you’d like to see happen, so share your ideas in the comments on any of our social channels. For now, get ready to spot the Seagulls.
As for what happens next? Watch this space.
