Join a fully-funded course to develop an essential toolkit of digital and creative skills that will make you the stand-out applicant for any hiring manager.

What’s on offer

In partnership with Creative Process Digital, you can join a free training course this summer and develop an essential toolkit of digital and creative skills. The courses are classroom-based at the Creative Process training centre in central Brighton and led by industry-leading certified tutors. 

They are valued between £2600-£3600, but are free to participants via Government grant funding.

Choose between:

  • A Digital Skills Bootcamp in: AI for Business, Google Digital Marketing and Analytics, Software Development Intermediate Level, Video Gaming Technical Art, or Video Skills. The commitment is 1 day per week over 8-12 weeks, and you will receive certification to demonstrate your professional competence.
  • An Accelerator in: Digital or Video. The commitment is full-time or part-time over 3-6 weeks, and you will receive an accredited Level 2 diploma on completion.  

Important:

  • There are various course dates over the summer; places are limited and subject to availability and change. Register your interest early to receive information about available dates.
  • You can take part in one Bootcamp and one Accelerator per financial year (1 April-31 March), if you have not already completed the same course during your time at Sussex.

Students are encouraged to advance their skills at their own pace with individualised support from Learning Support Assistants, so these courses are open to students at all levels, subject to eligibility.

  • AI for Business

  • Google Digital Marketing and Analytics

    The Google Digital Marketing and Analytics 4 training is a face-to-face Google Certified training programme designed to give you the opportunity to master the basics of digital marketing with an overview of 26 modules, as well as gaining valuable insights into analytical tools to start making strategic marketing decisions. All delivered by industry experts, packed full of practical exercises and real-world examples to help you turn knowledge into action.

  • Software Development Intermediate Level

    The Software Development bootcamp gives you hands-on experience in coding, web development, and software engineering. Designed for intermediate developers, it equips you with practical skills needed in today’s tech industry. You’ll learn from experienced industry professionals who provide real-world mentorship and guidance throughout. This is more than a course - it’s a pathway into roles such as software developer, web developer, or technical project roles.

  • Video Gaming Technical Art

    The Videogames Technical Art Bootcamp is an intensive, industry-driven course designed in collaboration with leading games developers to give you the exact skills studios are hiring for. You’ll gain hands-on experience in programming for artists (C++ and C#), real-time VFX, and advanced animation techniques for both 3D environments and characters. This isn’t theory - you’ll tackle real employer briefs and work in agile sprints, mirroring how professional game teams operate day-to-day.

  • Video Skills

    Master the production techniques used to create amazing videos that boost your views, revenue or drive traffic to your business. The Video Skills Bootcamp covers the full video production workflow, including idea development, production, post-production, and online distribution across a range of equipment, from smartphones and webcams to DSLRs and professional cameras. Learn video skills that are a cut above, enhancing your expertise and your CV.

Digital or Video Accelerator

  • Digital Accelerator

    This will equip you with an essential tool kit of digital and creative skills that employers demand, helping you create an impressive portfolio of work that will make you a standout applicant for any hiring manager, help you to develop your freelance skills or give your start-up a rocket-powered digital boost. 

    Course content at a glance: 

    • fine-tune your networking, pitching and presentation skills
    • build your own website, online portfolio and stand out CV
    • practise using design and marketing software used by professionals, including Wix, Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
    • understand what local opportunities are available in what sectors
    • secure interviews for exciting new jobs with great employers.

  • Video Accelerator

    The Video Accelerator is perfect for you if you are passionate about video and would like to explore various aspects of video making in a fun, practical and creative manner. Via practical workshops, presentations and hands-on learning, the accelerator will provide you with experience and support in producing amazing videos, whether you use a smartphone, webcam, DSLR or professional camera. 

    Whether you’re a YouTuber, blogger, vlogger, business owner, aspiring filmmaker, or just someone who wants to create videos, you will learn how to make professional videos with this course. 

    No previous experience in video is required as you will be introduced to all aspects of the process such as lighting, sound, editing and operating digital cameras. However, basic experience with a film-editing package will be beneficial.

How to apply

There are various course dates throughout the summer of 2026. Places are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Complete the registration of interest form below to share your details with the Careers and Entrepreneurship team. You will then receive information about available dates and a link to register for the bootcamp or accelerator of your choice.

Applications to register your interest close on Friday 31 July 2026 or earlier if places are filled.

Eligibility

Eligibility criteria apply, due to the funding model. To qualify, participants must meet the following requirements:

  • you must be 19 or over on or before 31 August 2025
  • you must have the legal right to work in the UK
  • you must not be on a student or graduate visa
  • you must be able to commit to the full course schedule.

Please note:

  • you can only enrol in one Bootcamp and one Accelerator per financial year (1 April-31 March), if you have not already completed the same course during your time at Sussex
  • courses are also open to the public.

University guidance recommends that students work, or commit to training courses, no more than:

  • 15 hours per week during term-time if you are an undergraduate
  • 20 hours per week during term-time if you are a postgraduate.

Subject to availability, during term-time:

  • undergraduate students are advised to only take part in a Bootcamp
  • postgraduate students are advised to only take part in a Bootcamp or part-time Accelerator.

During vacation period, students can undertake any of the courses.
