What to expect
This event is a great opportunity for students, both new and returning, who are looking to find part-time work or volunteering roles, to help finance your studies or gain work experience.
When it takes place
The Student Jobs and Volunteering Fair took place on Thursday 3 October 2024, 12pm - 3pm. This year, the Fair took place at the American Express Stadium, Falmer.
It is open to all students.
How to attend
This event has now taken place. The next Student Jobs and Volunteering Fair will take place in October 2025.
Look out for the Summer Jobs Fair in February 2025.
Getting to the Fair
The Fair will take place at the Sun Harvest Lounge, American Express Stadium, Falmer, BN1 9BL.
The American Express Stadium is to the southeast side of Falmer station and is easy to access via bus, train or from campus. Coming from Sussex campus, use the stairs to the right of the station entrance which will take you straight to the stadium. Follow the Fair signage and you will enter at the South entrance. You can see the entrance of the location on Google Maps.

- Amano Technology Limited
Amano supports disabled students in achieving their goals with specialist Non-Medical Help (NMH) services. Their consultants help break down barriers to learning for their students every day, helping them fulfil their goals in education. A variety of paid roles available, including study assistant, library support assistant and manual notetaker.

Amaze is a charity that gives information, advice and support to families with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities in Brighton & Hove and East Sussex. Recruiting paid and volunteering opportunities in marketing and fundraising.
- Appetite4Work
A temping agency specialising in providing work within hospitality industry across London and the South East. Casual hospitality positions in waiting and bartending roles available.
- Brighton & Hove City Council
Brighton & Hove City Council is a local authority that provides many services for citizens and visitors of Brighton & Hove. A range of paid and voluntary work opportunities across the local council.
- Brighton Youth Arts Festival
B.fest brings together young people from across the South East and beyond to celebrate all things creative and cultural. Held in late October, B.fest includes everything from skateboarding to stand-up, dancing to DnD, street art, radio, music, theatre and more. The organisation and delivery of B.fest is supported by a team of volunteers, in a range of roles. We need volunteers to support the planning of the festival, marketing, organisation, youth support, workshop, exhibition and events.

An independent community interest company dedicated to empowering communities to have their voice heard and champion change through impartial advice and organisational support. They are recruiting a healthwatch volunteer role to take part in a range of healthcare related projects throughout the year.

- Grace Eyre
The Grace Eyre Foundation is a charity in the social care sector that supports adults with learning disabilities and autistic people to live as independently as possible. Support worker roles available in Brighton and Hove.

- International Office (University of Sussex)
Students are employed to support the International Office with their work and share their experiences with prospective international students. Ambassadors cover a variety of tasks, including conducting campus tours, dealing with prospective student enquiries, supporting Open Days and creating content for social media channels.
- Real Junk Food Project Brighton
A movement of cafes, projects and pop-ups with one core objective: to intercept food waste destined for landfill and use it to feed people who need it, on a ‘pay as you feel’ basis. Recruiting volunteers in hospitality, events and marketing roles. Training and qualifications provided in food hygiene, barista work, first aid and cooking.

- Spirit of Sussex Award (University of Sussex)
A co-curricular scheme at the University of Sussex, the Award is available to all students at the University of Sussex and provides recognition via formal certification of students achievements outside their study. Students log points via an online platform in a range of categories including work experience and training and development, and work their way towards a Bronze, Silver or Gold award.

- Sussex Prisoners Families
A charity that supports people who have a loved one facing arrest, court or imprisonment. Providing an award-winning Surf Therapy Programme to improve children's mental health and wellbeing.
