Share your thoughts and help shape the university experience by joining one of our feedback sessions.
Your education matters
Each term, you're welcome to meet with Kate O’Riordan and Lewis Wilson to speak about your experience as a student and ask questions in an informal setting.
Professor Kate O’Riordan is the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education and Students). She leads on education and the student experience as part of the University Executive Team. Lewis Wilson is the Students’ Union’s Education and Employability Officer.
Some of the things Kate and Lewis would love to hear about include:
- how you are finding Sussex – whether it is about your studies or activities beyond academic life
- what is working for you or what you would like to see more of
- your suggestions to make the student experience at Sussex even better.
There's a wide range of information, advice and guidance available through the Student Centre’s support services too – whether you have a simple query or would like support with a more complex issue.
Upcoming sessions
Our autumn sessions run from 2.15pm to 3.45pm.
Kate and Lewis will be meeting students in the Student Centre on:
Wednesday 30 October 2024
Location: Room Landscape 1
We'd love to hear about how you are settling into teaching and learning this term.
If you're a first-year student, we're interested in your thoughts on induction and Welcome Week, and how you are finding your new course and university life in general.
If you're in a later year of study, we'd love to hear about your experience with us so far, and how your course and life beyond your studies compare to previous years.
Thursday 28 November 2024
Location: Atrium
We're interested to hear your thoughts on how you're being taught and assessed, whether you're new to university-level study or have experience across different modules already.
How to book your place
There are limited time slots available in each session.
To book a 15-minute slot, email the Student Communications team at internalcomms@sussex.ac.uk with the subject “Open office session for students” and your preferred date. You can take part as an individual or bring a couple of friends (e.g. from your course or a society).
How your input makes a difference
Do you have ideas to make teaching, learning or the wider student experience at Sussex the best it can be?
As a student, there are many ways in which you can share your views about what matters to you with the University and the Students’ Union. This includes taking part in surveys and speaking to your Student Reps, who represent your academic interests within your School.
