You can also attend workshops on academic study skills in the Careers and Employability Centre.
English language skills
If you are a full-time international or overseas student, or English is an additional language, you can take advantage of English language tutorials and workshops.
Visiting and exchange students can take modules during the year through the Sussex Centre for Language Studies.
The centre also runs full-time English modules throughout the autumn and spring terms, as well as during the summer months.
IT skills and software you can learn
Benefit from training courses on a wide range of software. Our staff provide free training for software including Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud.
They’re also on hand to help with IT issues in the Shawcross building, including problems getting online.
Canvas is the University’s online study platform, designed to enrich and support your study. You’ll use it to access study materials, carry out tasks set by your tutors and submit assignments online.

The Library offers workshops and one-to-one support to help with your studies.
