Get Settled

Explore our week of Welcome and induction to life at Sussex for new and returning students.

Welcome Week

Get Settled is the second part of your Welcome and induction programme as you start your journey as a Sussex student. Welcome week takes place between Monday 19 and Friday 23 September 2022.

You and your course

There will be sessions provided by your Schools, introducing you to your subject and the services available from the department. You'll find your School induction events listed on your academic induction timetable ahead of Welcome Week. Once these are available, they will be found in the ‘Get Settled’ section of your Welcome to Sussex Canvas module. You can self-enrol on to Canvas modules here.

You and your support

Visit the Student Centre on Thursday, where there will be lots of information about the support and guidance available to you as a Sussex student. You will also be able to find out about extra opportunities you can get involved with during your time here, including paid activities. There will be games, music and some freebies to enjoy. You can visit at any time during the day, but make sure you book your place.

Pick and mix sessions

You can choose from a range of pick and mix sessions, including student panels, talks and activities. Hosted by our staff and students, there are sessions introducing you to wellbeing and careers services, plus topics we care about that you might be interested in, such as sustainability and equality.

Choose the sessions you wish to attend each day by booking on to them from the listings below. If you’re arriving from overseas, you can take part in our New to the UK panel, led by our Student Connectors.
