SussexFood are putting together a freely accessible Student Scrapbook of Recipes to encourage more diverse gastronomic engagement.
Students are being asked to contribute their favourite food recipes for publication on social media site Pinterest. Here, anyone will be able to freely access the online portal to enhance their home-cooking experience.
With support from the School of Business, Management and Economics (BMEc), SussexFood are launching the recipe book with a One World Week event, 'A Taste of Home'.
At the event on Monday 10 March in the Jubilee Cafe, Executive Chef Luca Nervi will prepare some of the most interesting dishes and present food tasters, free of charge.
The event takes place from 3.30-5.30pm to bridge the (hunger) gap between One World Week events in the afternoon and early evening.
Students are encouraged to donate a recipe, be it traditional family favourites that they dearly miss or recent culinary creations that they have mastered since leaving home.
Luca says: "With our wonderfully diverse student population, we intend the recipe book to be truly global, but completely unique to Sussex"
If you would like your recipe to be in the running for inclusion at the 'A Taste of Home' event, submit your recipe to firstname.lastname@example.org before Monday (3 March).
Chef Luca will then peruse the recipes, choose his favourites and start sourcing the ingredients.
The free food event will be from 3.30-5.30pm in Jubilee cafe on Monday 10 March.
Please come along to sample your fellow students' favourite home-cooked dishes from around the world.
