University taking action to address issue with mass email

Internal Communications and IT Services have been urgently investigating an issue regarding a series of emails which were being sent to students with the subject title “Meeting”.
These emails are being generated by individual users selecting the “Reply All” function, which sends reply emails via student mailing lists. These lists are now being moderated to prevent this continuing.
The Internal Communications team said of the issue:
“We realise that this is very frustrating for students who are receiving these emails and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
“We are working with IT Services to sort out this problem as soon as possible. Thanks for being so understanding.”
