Second-year MPhys Theoretical Physics student Luke Panayi has been shortlisted for the Computer Science, IT and Physics Undergraduate of the Year Award 2019, in partnership with Visa, and will be attending the grand final in London at the end of April. He made the top ten from a record 4,500 student applications.
TARGETjobs Undergraduate of the Year Awards is a competition open to students across the UK, who can win prizes such as placements, internships and trips abroad with internationally recognised organisations. Fourteen different awards cover a range of academic subjects and skillsets.
To make it to the final, Luke first had to complete an application, including essay-style questions and online tests, and a telephone interview.
Luke said: “I honestly never expected to land an interview, and absolutely did not think I'd manage to get an internship after going, so now I have no idea what to expect from the final awards, but I'm really excited none the less."
