Many of you will now be securing properties in the private sector for your returning years of study. This will involve understanding and signing a tenancy agreement. A tenancy agreement is a legal document and it is important that you take time to read the agreement and to identify the responsibilities of a tenant.
On the Student Hub you can find a presentation to help you understand your tenancy agreement. This resource is designed to help prospective tenants understand their responsibilities and to ensure that there are no unfair terms in the agreement they are being asked to sign.
There are several other resources on the Student Hub to support students when moving in to and living in the private sector. The Private Sector and Community Liaison team spend time in the community meeting students living in the private sector offering support and guidance too.
Our Community Ambassador scheme has been a great success this academic year. The ambassadors have knocked on over 2,000 student household doors and have signposted to support and guidance on a wide variety of issues.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the fantastic Community Ambassador team for their hard work in all weathers over this academic year. You have been amazing and will be missed!
