The Wellbeing Team wishes you all the best for this assessment period. Make sure that you prioritise your self care - information on how to do this is in this article. This newsletter contains information about events happening next term (including one called canine cuddles) and some important information.
Wellbeing Canvas site:
Staff and students can self-enrol onto the Student Wellbeing canvas site. Here, we compile all the wellbeing support available in one place so that students can easily find it. If you haven’t joined the Canvas site already, please do!
Canine Cuddles:
Having a "ruff" day? Well, "fur" semester 2, the wellbeing and spirit of sussex award team have "embarked" on the "oppawtunity" to have Canine Concern attend campus once per week to see students. This will take place on a Tuesday from 12-2 unless otherwise stated. Signing up to these sessions will be advertised shortly.
Wellbeing Stalls:
The wellbeing stall will be in the student centre every Thursday starting again with term. Check out the Canvas site to see the themes.
Student Loans:
It can be very tempting to gamble when you are given a large amount of money. We have compiled some information about what you can do if you are concerned about yours or someone else’s gambling. Read more here!
Exceptional Circumstances:
For all students with deadlines/ exams in January, the deadline for exceptional circumstances is the 27th January. You can do this when there has been an incident that is short-term, unexpected and beyond your control. You can apply for: the late penalty to be removed, a non-submission to be condoned, absence at an exam or by being impaired in your performance. Information on how to do this and the evidence required is on this link!
New Year Resolutions - Student Advice Support:
Student Advice appointments with the Student Centre Student Advisors can be a great opportunity to review your progress through this academic year and set out goals for the new term. Take time to reflect on your issues or intentions with an Advisor, who can provide guidance about the range of resources you can draw on to support you to boost your engagement, motivation, wellbeing and focus or address your general concerns about how you are doing at University. Please get in touch via the Student Centre/My Sussex.
Library Workshops:
With the assessment period and potential choices about final projects/ dissertations, now would be a good time to familiarise yourself with workshops that are offered by the library.
