This World Sandwich Day (Tuesday 3 November), you're invited to try one of Italy’s best-kept sandwich secrets: the panuozzo.
Panuozzo starts life as pizza dough. It’s baked until golden, crisp on the outside and soft and airy in the middle, then sliced open and packed with fillings. Think of it as the place where pizza and sandwich meet.
For one day only on Tuesday 3 November, we’ll be serving four different panuozzi at Arts Piazza Cafe, each filled with classic pizza toppings:
Margherita (V): mozzarella, tomato, basil and olive oil
Napolitana: mozzarella, tomato, garlic, chilli, capers, olives and anchovies
Diavola: mozzarella, tomato and pepperoni
Fuoco e Miele (V): mozzarella, tomato, vegan nduja, hot honey and rocket
