Find out about our main examination venues and directions for getting to them.
Where exams take place
We normally run exams in large halls on campus and at venues in Brighton.
Check Sussex Direct for details of the location and timing for your exam.
We run exams in:
- the Sport Centre
- Falmer House – Mandela Hall and Mandela Balcony
- Bramber House – level 2.
Exams and football matches
The football stadium for Brighton & Hove Albion is near the campus.
This means if there is a football match on an exam day, and you need to drive to campus, you should use Knights Gate entrance. There is restricted parking in the Sport Centre and the Sussex House car park.
Other forms of transport may also be busy but check different ways to get to campus.
Always allow more time for your journey.
Our main off-campus venue is the American Express Community Stadium.
Go to the West Reception entrance.
Exams take place in several lounges in the stadium.
These are the:
- Mayo Wynne Baxter lounge
- iTalk lounge
- Harvey lounge
- Sussex Skills Solutions lounge.
If you are taking exams at the Amex stadium, make sure you know which lounge your exam is taking place in before you arrive. See your Sussex Direct timetable.
For exams in the:
- iTalk or Sussex Skills Solutions lounges, wait to the left of reception
- Mayo Wynne Baxter or Harvey lounges, wait to the right of reception.
If you are not sure which lounge your exam is in, check the screens either side of the reception area. Staff will also direct you.
Getting to the Amex
The Brighton and Hove number 25 bus is free to use between campus and the Amex stadium.
The Amex is about a five-minute walk from Falmer Station.
If you have reasonable adjustments in place your exam will be in a separate room to the main venue.
Your Sussex Direct timetable will normally be up-to-date at least one week before the exam.
