About Careers Fair 2026
Careers Fair 2026 takes place on Wednesday 4 November 2026, 11AM – 3PM, at the University of Sussex Student Centre. The event is open to current University of Sussex students and recent graduates.
At Careers Fair, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- browse and speak to employers from a range of sectors offering graduate roles, vacation work, placements, work experience and voluntary positions
- ask questions about careers at their organisations
- gain insight from employers on application and interview processes.
Many exhibiting employers are open to students from any degree discipline, so it’s an excellent way to start exploring their options and potential opportunities.
- What to expect at the Fair
Each employer will have their own stand at the event. Our Careers Fair Plus app and printed maps will help you locate organisations at the Fair. You will have the opportunity to speak to any organisation you’re interested in, and you may even find organisations you’ve never heard of that have opportunities you’d like to explore!
We understand that it’s not always easy to approach a stand and start a conversation with someone you don’t know. Please see the accessibility section in the drop-down at the bottom of the page for more information on how we can support you to get the most out of Careers Fair.
- Is this event right for me?
We hope you find it encouraging that most of the employers attending Careers Fair are open to students from any degree discipline. Some students find it helpful to use the event to simply explore what is available to them. Careers fairs generally attract larger employers with significant resources and recruitment needs, but every effort has been made to include a diverse range of employers.
The Careers and Entrepreneurship team run many exciting year-round events, which may suit you if you are looking to attend sector-specific events and engage with more employers.

- How do I book a place?
To attend Careers Fair, you will need to book a time slot.
You can also pre-book to join the Fair at a quieter time. From 11am-11.30am booking numbers will be limited to ensure this slot is more relaxed.
You are welcome to join the Fair with friends, but we ask that all students book for the event. By booking, you’ll receive helpful pre-event information.
- Prepare for Careers Fair

You can also attend an online workshop ‘Prepare for Careers Fair’. There are two sessions:
Session 1: Thursday 29 October 1-2pm
Session 2: Tuesday 3 November 1-2pm
- Accessibility
The event will take place in the Student Centre, towards the northern end of campus. A carpark with accessible spaces is located close to the venue, please contact us in advance for guidance or refer to signage on the day. It is about a 5 to 15-minute minutes’ walk to the nearest bus or train stop. The building can be accessed via fairly flat pathways.
Quiet period
This year, you can also book our new quiet period timeslot (11am-11.30am) if you would benefit from experiencing the fair with reduced capacity. The lighting in Woodlands 2-3 will also be dimmed during this period.

Staff will be on hand throughout the day to support you. We will have an information desk at the entrance of the event where you speak to a member of staff. There will also be a quiet, sensory-friendly space on the first floor of the Student Centre (wheelchair accessible via lift).
