Sussex Fund telephone appeal: earn money and make a difference

Are you looking for remote part-time work this autumn? Are you confident talking on the phone and enthusiastic about the University?

If so, why don’t you apply to be a Student Caller in the University’s autumn telephone fundraising appeal? Every penny raised goes directly to the Sussex Fund, which exists to provide support and opportunities for students who need them the most.

In fact, thanks to the outstanding goodwill of our alumni and friends, the Sussex Fund has provided almost £300,000 this year to help students impacted by the Covid-19 outbreak through hardship funds and additional support for mental health and wellbeing.

Plus, the annual telephone appeal generates much more than financial contributions to the Sussex Fund. It also creates an opportunity for current students to connect with our alumni and make a difference through the simple act of sharing their experiences.

As Susana, who was a Student Caller last year, explains:

“Working on the campaign was an amazing experience. I was able to talk to alumni and find out about how their Sussex degrees helped them in their careers. I especially enjoyed talking to those alumni who are working in fields that interest me; they gave me good advice and I learned a lot from them.

“Perhaps what was most rewarding was the knowledge that our efforts were raising money for students in need and helping them to continue their studies. I thank our alumni for their support in helping make Sussex the supportive and inclusive University that it is.”

Please use this online form to find full details about the job and submit your application. If you have a question, you can contact Ben Loxton at b.loxton@sussex.ac.uk.

Applications will close on 16 October.
