Whether you’re looking for a part time job, looking for a placement, want to sort out your options after your course or just make the most of your time at Sussex, the Careers and Employability Centre is here to help.

Here are five reasons why you should visit us.

1. We do jobs and so much more.

We help you with finding jobs, placements and graduate schemes. We also help with things like CVs, interviews and academic skills such as essay writing and time management.

You can find hundreds of listings on CareerHub throughout the year for part-time jobs, campus jobs, graduate jobs, internships and placements.

2. We’re a friendly team of knowledgeable people, here to help you.

Our team know all about CVs, interviews, job searching, career options for your degree and how to deal with employers. When it comes to your questions, chances are we’ve heard them before and have the answer.

If you’ve got any questions, try our online resources, come to a workshop, ask us a question or book an appointment.

3. Clueless about your future career plans? That’s fine. You don’t have to know right now.

We know how it feels to come to university and wonder if you made the right choice. The good news is you don’t need an entire life plan before the end of Welcome Week! Your options and your plans will change throughout your degree – that’s completely normal. If you are feeling a little bit lost, we can help.

4. We bring employers to you. Our events are your chance to meet them before you apply.

We’ve all seen job adverts that sound tailor-made for us, but we want to know more about the people, the culture and the company – which the internet can’t always help with.

We invite employers to campus all year round to talk about opportunities, who they want to hire, and give you the chance to find out if you’re right for them. If you’re thinking about your future career, we’ll also have the Careers Fair on Wednesday 6 November.

5. We’re here for everyone. Whether you’re first-year or final year, foundation or PhD.

It’s your service. We’re here for everyone at Sussex throughout your degree and for three years after you graduate.

This is just a snapshot of what we offer. To get started, visit sussex.ac.uk/careers or say hello in the Careers and Employability Centre on the ground floor of the Library.
