If you work for, run, or know of a small or medium enterprise which could benefit from a fully funded intern then please read on...
The universities of Brighton and Sussex are working in partnership with funding from the European Social Fund, to introduce support for SMEs with the launch of the STEP UP Programme.
STEP-UP is a development programme for small and medium-sized businesses in the Coast to Capital LEP area which will introduce you to working with universities, offer you free learning and development workshops, and give you early access to the talented graduates you need for your business, including a fully-funded graduate intern for six weeks.
The STEP-UP team are ready to support you through this innovative peer-to-peer development programme, offering a unique opportunity to network with similar-minded business leaders, and develop sustainable relationships with local universities and talented graduates.
The programme consists of five workshops, using proven leadership techniques including Action Learning Sets to help you identify and address current skills issues in your organisation, as well as masterclasses on topics most in demand by SMEs looking to recruit graduates.
This will also be an excellent opportunity for local businesses to network, with each other and your local universities.
The graduate interns
At the universities, final-year students will attend a specialised skills training programme that reflects the skills needed by SMEs, and on completion, they will be eligible for recruitment onto fully-funded internships with the participating employers. Internships will take place after graduation in summer of 2021. Details of how students can participate will be released at the start of the autumn term.
How do you get involved?
Positions are limited, so early applications are advised. There is no cost for participating employers.
