Dear all students,

- Assessments and feedback
- Covid-19 tests for asymptomatic students studying and living on campus
- Logging your points towards your Spirit of Sussex Award
- Student Visa applications update
Get hired!
The Connector Programme is hiring. They are looking to recruit students as Alumni Relations Connectors who will work in teams of students and staff to develop the connection between current and previous Sussex students, so that current students can benefit from the experience and expertise of alumni. They are looking for students from every school at Sussex – anyone looking for paid work and a new opportunity, can search for 'Connector' on CareerHub or see the Student Connectors website to find out more.
Res Life connectors – supporting the student community
Res Life connectors are student-based roles that are part of the wider connector programme, and their job is to collaborate with other students to run activities that students want to see including events that help students make the most out of their student life, such as social activities and academic support through things like study groups. You can see what events the Res Life connectors put on via the Things to do page on the Student Hub.
They also run regular virtual drop in’s so you can talk to them about how to get involved in the student community and take part in activities. Res Life connectors are here to support all students, so whether you are in University accommodation, living in the private sector or living at your home address you can check out the Things to do page and see what’s on offer.
Assessments and feedback
As many of you have recently submitted assessments, we want to make sure that you’re aware of how you can access your grades and access feedback on your work when they’ve been marked. You can find out how to do this on the Student Hub’s Getting Marks and feedback page.
As mentioned in the update to all students on the 8 January, we are developing a no-detriment policy to provide reassurance that we will ensure your grades are not negatively impacted due to the pandemic. We will be in touch with more information about this in due course.
Covid-19 tests for asymptomatic students studying or living on campus
We are now able to offer repeat free Covid-19 testing up to twice a week to all students studying or living on campus accommodation until at least the end of February.
From next Monday (25 January) students studying or living on campus can be tested up to twice a week until at least the middle of February. You can find more information about how to make a booking for a test on the Student Hub.
Please note: If you are symptomatic, you should self-isolate and arrange for a home test kit to be delivered.
Student Visa applications update
For students who have recently been granted a Student Visa or who are in the process of making a Student Visa application please see the information on the University web pages, if you have any queries please contact International Student Support.
Whether you are studying remotely from overseas or the UK please do get involved in as many events as possible from Residential Life, International Student Support as well as your School. Check the Events page for information on upcoming events.
How to access support if you need it
Finally, all of our student support services are here for you if you need help on any matter, as are our School offices if you have any academic queries.
With best wishes
